"Do not see in the bread and wine merely natural elements, because the Lord has expressly said that they are his body and his blood: faith assures you of this, though your senses suggest otherwise." (St. Cyril of Jerusalem)
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion
According to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB), when the necessary number of ordinary ministers (bishops, priests, and deacons) are not present for the distribution of Holy Communion, members of the lay faithful may be called upon to assist their priests.
If you are interested in being trained to become a Extraordinary Minister (EM), please contact Missy Hollis (firstname.lastname@example.org) for more information. EM's must be registered parishioners who have received Confirmation. All applications are sent to the rector for approval.
